Had the most wonderful trip to Kamikōchi in Nagano Pref last weekend. I've wanted to go for years, and was thrilled to finally make it. The area is nicknamed 'the Swiss Alps of Japan', and the mountains, rivers and forests were simply stunning.
An illustration of when @tanaka.suguru.3 and I went camping at the Kujūrenzan in mountain chain in Kyūshū back in 2015. It was the first time we went camping in Japan, and it was such an amazing experience🏕️
Here's a new illustration (and variation) based on the amazing time @tanaka.suguru.3 went to visit Yakushima Island in the south of Japan last year. The trees were so huge, mossy and ancient. It was such a joy to be able to explore the hiking trails in the early morning light, and that's some of the atmosphere that I tried to capture here. Drawn in Procreate running on iPad Pro, mainly using Derwent Pencil and Niko Rull brushes.

Based on yesterday's visit to the wonderful gardens in Yokohama, here is a drawing of my uncomplaining model @tanaka.suguru.3 surrounded by hydrangeas.
Had a fabulous day yesterday walking around Yokohama and visiting a collection of old Western-style houses set in beautiful parks. The houses are free to enter, and we visited the Yamate Italian Garden, The Home of a Diplomat and the Former British Consulate. The weather was stunning, and the hydrangeas were in full bloom.
