In 2024, I began working for Japanese market entry company YOUNEEDS Co., Ltd. In this role, I write English language blog posts, copywrite for web and print, and consult on PR and branding for their website and other social media. The work leverages my writing, editing and project management skills, as well as giving me the chance to work with their team of marketing professionals.
Based in Tokyo and Osaka, YOUNEEDS Co. Ltd. helps foreign companies enter the Japanese market by offering a wide range of support. This includes branding, advice on adapting their offering for the Japanese market, target lists to help foreign companies find their partners in Japan, localized websites and more. Founded in 2020, YOUNEEDS Co. Ltd. has the atmosphere of a startup, with skilled marketing professionals at its heart.
In this role, I also interpret and support meetings with clients, similar to my in-house interpreting and VIP support as a Coordinator for International Relations on the JET Programme (2015-20). This has been an interesting and engaging role and I am looking forward to learning more in my position with YOUNEEDS Co. Ltd.
In December of 2024, I also had the opportunity to help host two YOUNEEDS interns, who worked with us for six weeks. I was the main point of contact during this time and ensured all work was organised and completed during their stay. This was a wonderful opportuinty as it allowed me to attend events, collaborate on presentation materials and create marketing content with our interns.
